Advancement for Western Star
Eagle Projects or Board of Review and MB College
Roger Knapp has been the head of the Western Star District advancement since Nov 6, 2003. I want to be available and ready for your needs. If there are questions about advancement requirements please call or email me. Call me for project approvals or Boards but understand you need to plan ahead. Last minute rush jobs does no one a favor. Appointments for eagle project approval or eagle board of review can be done by any of the first four on the following list.... Roger, Randy, James, Carl, Chris, or John.
The members of this committee are:
Roger Knapp (Chairman) 972-986-5976 Randy Svajda 972-257-0183 James Roman 972- 816-1907 Carl Proctor 972-255-2743 Bob Byrd Chris Wilt 972-304-8320 John Hayes 972-964-7007 Important! The most common problem with National BSA not approving the Eagle
Badge is Registration from beginning in Scouts to Eagle board of review. Check with
the Registration Dept 214-902-6790 to be sure the scout was officially registered
before the board of review. This is especially true if they are over 18 yr old.
Also be sure the scout has had at least 6 months and 1 wk
in the leadership position after the date of Life.Important! Be sure to use a current application for Eagle=> Application for Eagle Badge
Important! Be sure to use the current Eagle Project Workbook that starts in 2012.

NOTE: Starting Jan1, 2012 you will need to email Dr. Knapp a copy of your online advancements and
a copy of your eagle application. I will have to send them to Circle 10 Council to be approved and they
will send it back to me. Then you may arrange a time and place for your eagle board or review.
Sorry about this inconvenience. This is the national policy that Circle 10 has been avoiding but will now
have to use like the rest of the country.++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Note for 2012: Starting Jan 2012 you will need to use the new Eagle Project workbook. If you have already started using
the old workbook you may finish with that book. Those starting after Jan 1 will need to use the new workbook.
You cannot alter or change the wording or format of this book. The easier way may be to use the PDF that is
fillable on your computer. You can type in information into it. Or print out the PDF and hand write in the information.Instructions for time extensions for earning the Eagle Badge.
Instructions for Special Needs scouts to adjust their requirements.
Alternate Eagle MB Plan for scouts with disabilities. This form should be filled out and
forwarded to me to take to Council Meeting for approval. This allows the boy to substitute cub scout achievements and boy scout
MBs that he is physically not capable of doing. It will allow him to continue to work on his eagle past 18yr.
See: Alternate EagleThe 2011 Coordinator for Western Star MB College was Lydia Perkins and we hope she will do it this year.
