Americans spend more money for healthcare.    Much of it is quality of life and not maters of life-or-death.

Look at numbers of two procedures in America and compare with other countries with national health care... which limit who gets what.

Knee replacement
America:  7000/million population
Sweden:   2400/million population

Cardiac catheterizations
America:    5000/million population
France:      2500/million population
Sweden:     1102/million population
UK:             758/million population

We don't have a difference in the rate or incidence of diseases... we do not limit the treatment of them.
We complain about the cost of medical care until our love ones need a new hip or cancer treatment.
